About me

I'm Moss, a UX researcher and product strategist. I've spent the last 10 years working with non-profits, universities, enterprise companies, government agencies, and open-source projects. I've worked at the Wikimedia Foundation and the University of Washington, consulted with Mastodon and egghead.io, and worked with companies like Bright House Networks and ProQuest.

How I work

I'm inspired by mosses.

Mosses engage in beneficial relationships with microorganisms, exchanging carbon for nitrogen and other nutrients, while collectively creating fertile soil and providing habitat for countless other organisms.

I think about partnerships the way mosses do. While I help you understand what's actually happening (through research, strategy, and insight into people and information), you bring domain knowledge, the problem you're trying to solve, and the ability to implement change.

Together, we uncover what's needed and what your organization can realistically do.

What I actually do

I conduct user research to understand what's actually happening with your users. I help teams figure out what their product should be based on that reality – not assumptions. I design services and systems that work within your constraints. And I work with you to implement what we learn, so the insights actually change things.

When I'm not working, I'm probably taking analog photos of Minneapolis outdoors or attempting to perfect my home espresso.
